We are a Delhi based dance group. We do stage shows and have our roots in Indian creative dance. Indian Creative Dance is fusion style of dance that adapts European theatrical techniques to Indian classical dance. So, our dance productions and choreographies have Indian creative dance, elements of Contemporary, Mayurbhanj Chhau and semi classical dance.

Our director - Basu Sharma
Basu Sharma began her training in Indian Creative Dance under the tutelage of Late Shri Narendra Sharma in 1988. Shri Narendra Sharma was a student of Uday Shankar, who is the father of Indian creative dance. She performed and assisted Shri Narendra Sharma in Indian dance festival in USSR, International Dance Festival in West Germany, Yuva Award function in India etc.
She learnt various folk dances from Parvitya Kala Kendra and Kathak from Bhartiya Kala Kendra. She conducted many dance workshops for Sahitya Kala Parishad such as summer dance workshop in Prayaas Observation House and for Ministry of Human Resources. She taught dance in schools and choreographed their annual day functions.
In 2006, she established Dishaa Creative Dance Group. With the support of Ministry of Culture, she produced and choreographed dance drama like Mardaaani, Ardh, Reflection, Aparajita, The Stamp etc. She and her group was invited to perform in ‘Qatar- India year of Culture 2019’ held Doha, Qatar. In 2022, she choreographed ‘Babasaheb – The Grand Musical’ organised by Delhi govt.
Our story so far...
In 2006, Basu Sharma founded Dishaa Creative Dance Group. With the support of Ministry of Culture, Basu Sharma choreographed and directed productions like Reflection (based on the life of an acid attack survivor), The Click – Impact of Science, Panchtatva, The Stamp (based on bonded labour) and Peace and Harmony and Aura. We performed in events organised by ICCR such as International Doctor’s Seminar held at AIIMS, ITEC Day held at Maurya Sherton, etc.
We went on to produce and stage dance drama like Mardaani, Ardh, Addiction and dance festivals like Nritya Utsav and Samanvya.
In 2019, we were invited to perform in ‘India-Qatar Year of Culture’ held at Doha, Qatar organised by Embassy of India, Doha and ICR.
In 2022, we performed in 50 shows of Babsaheb the grand musical organised by Delhi govt. and Azaadi ka Amristmahotsav- 22nd Bharat Rang Mahotsav organised by National School of Drama.
